Digital smile design is a planning method that supports examination and clinical assessment; it does not determine the outcome of aesthetic treatment on its own. Its aim is to document the starting situation in detail and assess possible changes before treatment begins.

Which records are used?

Depending on the case, records may include intraoral and facial photographs, video, digital intraoral scans and three-dimensional radiographic images. These help assess the relationship between the teeth, face and lips.

Can I see the result before treatment?

In suitable cases, a digital design can be assessed in the mouth using a temporary mock-up. This allows the patient and dentist to review tooth length, shape and the overall smile together before treatment begins.

Individual planning

Digital design does not promise the same outcome for every patient. The final plan is based on assessment of the teeth, gums, bite and biological conditions.

Which treatments can use it?

Digital planning may support ceramic veneers, zirconia restorations, implant-supported prostheses and comprehensive aesthetic rehabilitation. The method depends on the needs of each case.
